Vitamins for Babies? What do parents or doctors think?

Parenting & Your Child
My son is 18 months and healthy but I'm trying to figure out if I should put him on vitamins?  They offer baby vitamin drops, I know Gerber and Infamil both carry a product of this type.  I'm just not sure if it's necessary or really does anything?  It does not have iron in it as I know this can cause constipation in little ones!  Also, I'm trying to look into calcium supplements b/c my son does not like milk all that much!

Just stay away from the gummy ones. The kid's dentist said those are bad for their teeth.

My doctor gave some drops to give to my baby although he said they taste terrible. He's one of those doctors that tries everything before he gives it to a child and he said even he wouldn't take them. So I decided not to torment my child :)

Thank you. I tried the Gerber drops that I bought and they didn't taste too good either. I've only tried once...my son seeems to do fine without them but you never know what you are doing right vs. wrong, so I thought I would entertain the idea, at least once.

The problem with the food that we eat now its that it is grown in over-farmed soil. Most of the minerals from the soil have been stripped. I read somewhere that our current food has 1/10 the nutrients of food grown 100 years ago. I breastfed for 25 months but still supplemented with some of the Enfamil Next Step. My little girl has eczema and only gets worse from milk. We used the Soy. Sometimes she would have vitamins too!
