Slice-N-Bake or Homemade?

It's cookie time...I've bought the cute Pillsbury slice-n-bake with the little Christmas trees in them b/c they always turn out much better (and prettier) than the ones I make from scratch and take less than half the time to prepare. What is your favorite? From scratch cookies or the slice-n-bake? Do you have an easy, from scratch recipe that's always a success for the holidays? I haven't found anything on BettyCrocker.com or Kraft.com yet, but still looking.
