Great Holiday Recipe - Snickerdoodle Cookies (from a friend)

Snickerdoodles:
1 cup butter or margarine (softened)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
2 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Mix together the butter, sugar and eggs. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Roll the dough into balls about the size of walnuts. In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Roll the balls in the cinnamon mixture. Place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cookies should be lightly browned, but still soft.
